2011 KO Off-Road Championships

The 2011 KO Off-Road Championships were held December 16th & 18th at West Coast R/C Raceway in La Mirada, CA. This years event brought in over 180 entries, which included 5 IFMAR World Champions: Cody King, Jared Tebo, Ryan Cavalieri, Brian Kinwald, and Hayato Matsuzaki!
 
Race Schedule:
Friday, December 16th: Open Practice
Saturday, December 17th: 3 Rounds of Qualifying
Sunday, December 18th: Lower Main Bump-Ups / Triple A-Mains
 
The race program would run 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday taking each drivers single fastest run to determine the overall qualifying order. Then the top 8 drivers would go straight into the A-Main, with 2 car bump-ups from the lower mains to make a full 10 car field. Triple A-Mains were ran to decide the Champion in each class. 


In the 2wd Modified Short Course Class, it was Kyosho's Cody King who would TQ every round of Qualifying to capture the overall TQ with his Team Orion powered SC-R!

 

Cody then went onto Win A-Mains #1 & #2 to take home the Overall Championship and Team Orion's 3rd for the event!

Congrats to Kyosho/Team Orion's Jared Tebo for finishing 2nd overall in 4wd Modified Buggy and finishing 2nd overall in 2wd Modified Buggy, landing on the podium in both classes he raced!

 

Congrats also goes out to Zack Rogers for finishing 4th overall in 4wd Modified Buggy and 9th overall in 2wd Modified Buggy, making both A-Mains in the classes he raced!

Lastly, a shout out to Ryan Sagisi for finishing 10th overall in 4wd Modified Buggy and Ryan Matesa for finishing 10th overall in 2wd Modified Buggy!
