Saturday, May 17th: 2 Rounds of Qualifying
Sunday, May 18th: Semi's / A-Main Event
1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy Qualifying
After all 4 rounds of qualifying were complete, King would qualifying 3rd and Tebo 6th overall.
1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy Semi's
King would be up first in the Odd Semi where he would start 2nd on the grid. Being a warm-up race this weekend, King would test a few things in the Semi to learn and use the information on which direction to go for the 1-hour A-Main later that day. King would go onto finish 5th and take a direct transfer position to the A-Main while finding the answers he was needing to know.
Tebo would be up next in the Even Semi where he would start 3rd on the grid. Tebo had a rough start and would be shuffled back to 7th on the first lap. He then started picking off drivers every lap and eventually worked his way into the lead. With 7-minutes left to go, Tebo was leading by a decent margin and came in for his last fuel stop. As he was exiting pit lane, he clipped the wall and was forced to retire early. Showing alot of speed during the Semi, look for great results next month from Tebo!
1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy A-Main Event
King would start from the 8th position on the grid for the 1-hour A-Main Event. When the tone went off, King drove very smart to make sure he didnt get collected with other drivers as the first couple laps were rough. King would start pushing his pace and making passes to quickly move up to the top 3. After a few rounds of pit stops were complete, the battle was on between King, Tessman, and Maifield. All 3 drivers were running very close together while pushing a very fast pace. King would be the only driver in the entire A-Main to go with the 10-minute fuel stategy. Lightning fast pit stops were provided by his Dad, Paul King (PK) and Kyosho America Team Manager Joe Pillars. As each driver completed their last round of fuel stops, the battle up front was now between King and Tessman. King would hold a 5-second lead over the next couple minutes, but Tessman was on the charge. On the last lap, Tessman was now right behind King on the track and applying the pressure. King drove a perfect last lap, not allow any room for Tessman to make a pass and take the impressive Win!
